The Future is Bespoke, Personalized Software

Every app I use is about 70% right. The last 30% never ships because the addressable market for it is one person -- me. So I built seven apps that are 100% right for one person, and I think that whole category of software is about to get eaten.

The Local-First App Skill

A reusable blueprint that tells Claude Code how to build a single-user app -- Next.js, node:sqlite, a pure logic core -- so every app I build comes out the same shape.

I Built an AI-Friendly UI Pattern Library

A UI pattern library where every pattern ships the prompt that rebuilds it, so a coding agent can put it in your codebase instead of you copying CSS.

Why this site looks like this

This is the low-carbon edition. Every page is built to a 200 KB budget, and the meter at the top shows how much of it the page you are reading spends.

  1. Dark by default. On OLED screens a black pixel is switched off. The saving is small indoors (3–9%) and large outdoors at full brightness (39–47%), per Purdue's 2022 study. Turn the lights on if you prefer paper.
  2. No web fonts. Headings and body use the serif your system already has; labels use its monospace. That removes every font request.
  3. 4-tone dithered images. Photos and illustrations are reduced to four grey levels, then tinted by CSS to match the theme. The originals are one tap away under each image.
  4. Recordings stay unloaded. Terminal GIFs weigh up to 1.2 MB each, so they play only when you ask.
